Kenwood TH-D74A is showing the way to even more capable and versatile amateur digital HTs. The model made its maiden appearance at the 2016 Dayton Hamvention. This triband radio operates on the 144, 220 and 440 MHz bands.
Supported modes include: DV / DV Fast data / FM / NFM / WFM / AM (receive) and even SSB receive! A built-in ferrite bar antenna enhances reception of medium wave and the lower end of shortwave coverage which does go all the way to 30MHz. Then VHF coverage continues solid from 30 to 524 MHz! It is equipped with a built-in TNC (1200/9600) and provides APRS® (Automatic Packet/Position Reporting System) and there is an integrated GPS! It will also support D-Star with superior audio.
It is Bluetooth compliant and supports microSD and Micro-USB. Receive frequency ranges include: 136-174, 216-260, 410-470 [A] and 0.1-524 [B] MHz. RF power may be set for 5, 2, 0.5 or 0.05 Watts. Weatherproof to IP54/55 standards.
