From a layman's perspective, the CST is like a driver within a driver comprising an outer 160mm midrange cone and an inner 35mm dome tweeter. This "in-line" design is said to deliver a precise imaging and seamless sound stage crucial for accurate sound reproduction. For enhanced performance, the two components employ exotic Beryllium metal known for it ultra-rigid property. Other notable touches include custom-manufactured electronics and teardrop-shaped cabinets. On top of the TAD-R1, Pioneer will display other high-end speakers from its EX-series ideal for its powerful Susano A/V receiver with integrated 10-channel amplifier. In the Blu-ray player department, the company has lined up a variety of model, including its latest BDP-LX52, BDP-320 and the entry-level BDP-120. This is achieved using Pioneer's proprietary Coherent Source Transducer (CST) and two sizable 250mm bass drivers.
